Feathers is a collection of photographs from a much larger project that explores the process of observing feathers.
During a crossroad in my life I began to observe an excessive amount of feathers lining my everyday path. Oftentimes coinciding with an internal thought the feathers appeared as if they had been purposefully placed. So precise and centred, as if someone had mere moments beforehand delicately composed their position.
With an immediate response to the vanishing subject, I documented each feather that lined my walking path. Each day, the sight of a feather, was documented. Without an intention to change its composition nor remove that which surrounded it. Keeping it raw and honest, I quietly, as I walked, captured the essence of these fallen feathers.
Predominately photographed on 35mm colour film, this series is a collection of those moments that were captured on black and white 35mm film. Therefore, has become a series within its own right and gives birth to a new way of perceiving the object of a feather.
